Enter the secret world of Dog and Duck                         - a magical new series for CITV.

A scruffy dog on wheels and a cuddly duck are the stars of a brand new pre-school series for CITV.

The two toys are the beloved playthings of Joe (4) and Jenny (6), who have just moved with their parents to a big house in the country.

But Dog and Duck are no ordinary toys. They come to life when Joe and Jenny’s backs are turned and take on their personalities to explore the world around them.

Helping them on their many fact-finding adventures are Piano, a lively instrument who plays and sings himself, knowledgeable Tele, who displays a host of information about the outside world; and Elephant, a less-than-adventurous creature who rarely leaves the safety of the toybox.

This delightful new series for pre-school children combines state-of-the-art animatronics with traditional story-telling to create a magical version of a very real world.

DOG AND DUCK MAKES A SPLASH ON CITV

Enter the secret world of two very special toys - a scruffy dog on wheels and a cuddly duck - in Dog and Duck a major new pre-school series for CITV, transmitting every weekday from early January.

Dog and Duck are the beloved playthings of Joe (4) and Jenny (6), who have just moved with their parents to a big house in the country.

“Dog and Duck is completely different to anything else on screen at the moment,” says United Productions’ Director of Children’s Programmes Dan Maddicott. “It returns to the traditional ideas of story-telling for children as seen in tv classics like Bagpuss, yet employs state-of-the-art animatronics  and effects for a really contemporary twist.”

“Dog & Duck is a real departure from the current pre-school fare with its unusual filmic quality and enchanting narrative,” says lTV’s Controller of Children’s and Youth programmes Nigel Pickard. “The two lead characters have bags of charm and are set to be major pre-school stars for CITV”.

The voices of Dog and Duck are provided by Josie Lawrence (Whose Line Is It Anyway, Outside Edge) and James Fleet (Vicar Of Dibley, Four Weddings and a Funeral).

Produced by Tracey Mulcrone and directed by Bob Harvey, Dog & Duck features sophisticated animatronics from Animated Extras, the team behind effects for Fierce Creatures, Event Horizon and the Oscar-nominated Frankenstein. It is a United Production for Meridian Broadcasting.
